You never know when your time is up

I'll cut & paste what the guy said

Quote
Well I just got the most precious present ever. I went into town this morning to get Gerts prescription. On the way back there was and accident. When if first saw it I thought to myself , ouch that’s a bad one. A Jimmy 2002 or there abouts had come across the road going into town and hit the ditch the snow had slowed it down, but then the energy from the movement had thrown the jimmy into a telephone pole, hitting the pole with its roof. Nearly busting it in half. darn I thinks to myself that could be my daughters Jimmy. So I pull in front of the ambulance, while watching in the rearview mirror I think I see Gert my Bride in the ambulance.  I am so glad I stopped it was my daughters Jimmy. They are both OK… Two feet…Two feet…that’s all it would have taken to turn this into a tragedy. There was no back seat left. The frame of the Jimmy is even bent. Gad Am I ever a luck guy. Please guys and gals take it easy out there. When I think what could have happened…scares the bejueses outah me. I have received my Christmas present early this year. Hope you all have a great one. Drive safe K

This happened to a guy on a local forum, just met the guy for the first time a couple weekends ago, heres a couple pics of the jimmy...

it was close enough that while Gert was getting righted after the hit her hair was stuck between the pole and the Jimmy...she took a handfull out...

SLOW DOWN and watch yourselves out there for the holiday season and always! you never know when your finished, all it takes is a blink of an eye and its all over. Cherish every moment you get to spend with your family & friends cause it may be your last.

And for Christs sake if you see an accident pull over and check! It wont killyou, but it may kill someone else.. Apparently the woman heard at least a dozen vehicles including a plow truck pass on the highway before someone who lived nearby came over to check if anyone was inside.

I usually stop atleast once a week to check a vehicle in the ditch or stopped beside the road, I lose what, 5 mins of my life if they dont need help?? nothing I have on the go is important enough that I cant afford to lose that much time.

When is the last time you stopped to check on a vehicle with its hood up in a parkinglot? I've given 4 boosts and half a gallon of washerfluid to people in the last month and a half and made $25 (Which i'm sure the salvation army appreciates) people are so selfcentered these days, all they care about is 'number one' and it gets me pissed right off! I just want to strangle these idiots that only think about themselves and **** everyone else. This world is going to hell in a handbasket! I'm ashamed to be part of this society but theres no way to escape it, I moved 50km away from the city and i'm still surrounded by these retards!

Who wants to start a commune? I've been seriously considering it the last few years, I can get property another 60km east of where I am now for dirt cheap, Wind powered turbine generators from work at cost, it wouldnt be hard for a dozen people to farm enough food to sustain themselves. I know a guy who farms buffalo and I can get them for half of the going rate......

BAH.. I'm gonna go chop some wood or shovel some snow or something and calm down.

Whatever higher being you may believe in, thank that entity that that wasn't fatal...my brother died in a wreck in a blazer that looked better than that afterwards. Very Lucky, those people were.

When the roads are slick, slow down people..leave a bit earlier..it may make the difference life and death.

And my pet peeve is the people in a 45,000 thousand dollar escalade doing down a snow or ice-covered highway at 70 mph..because they have an "off road" vehicle...HELLO! 4 wheel drive will NOT stop or turn your rig any better than 2 wheel drive will...

I learned to drive in the bad shiznit in the real SUV...a Jeep CJ...
snow, ice, sleet...you name it, i drove in it...
Take your time, antite stops, turns, and allow triple the distance between you and other motorists..and live to see another Christmas. ohh..and BUCKLE UP!

I am one that does leave early, if I am late I still don't go any faster than conditions allow... if I arrive late I arrive late... I just am worried about other people hitting me! I know I most likely won't hit them. Been doing this since getting my license. almost seven years!

Yes please slow down for us that do!

Late is late. Wether you are five minutes late or twenty five, you are still late. I'ts not worth you'r life or someone elses for that matter.
