You know, I have been reading a lot of threads on the HO conversion and I wonder...wouldn't it be just as easy to pull a 5.0 from an '88 Mustang or Lincoln LSC.  I mean the entire motor and computer?  Or am I missing something here?


Actually it's easier to just swap the motors. All you have to do is plug in a Mustang or MK VII speed density computer with the HO motor and you're all set to go.
88 Thunderbird LX: 306, Edelbrock Performer heads, Comp 266HR cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, bunch of other stuff.
