That's a new one on me. Since they cars share the same windshield, wiper motor, wiper arm mechanism, cowl and hood, I can't see that as being possible. Quote Selected

wiper arms Reply #5 – December 09, 2006, 04:02:21 AM Hi!,I parted a couple of Coug/Tbirds in a junkyards since 2 years, and the windshield is identical, same firewall, same everything between T-Birds from 83-88, EXCEPT the dash pad is unique on 83-84 (flat style) and 85-88 not flat, except theses differences, all fit on 83 to 88, same hood, windshiels, wiper motor, ect, ect...The only "big" difference between 83/4 and 85/8 is thw wiring harness plugs, 83/84 have a push pull type headlight switches, and 85 to 88 is a toggle switch, I guess the harness is slightly different from 85-88 instead 83-84...Have a nice Day!... No two years are the same. From 85 to 88 the wiring harness is the same, or VERY CLOSER, okay, some luxury equipment are not wired yet, but at large is the same...For an example, My Bird was a BASE bird, only the electric windows and pwr mirrors...Last year I putted all the things I found on the junkyard from a 83-88 coug./bird, such a auto light dim, and power seats, name it, I have on My '85, now My bird is FULL equipped, really, FULL, name it I have!..Okay, these things need a harness additions, but NOT MAJOR! mods on a main harness...Have a nice Day!, Quote Selected
wiper arms Reply #8 – December 09, 2006, 07:15:58 PM If anyone has converted a car to full trim level its me. Did you convert to ATC? buttstuffog cluster? Do you know how to convert to keyless? What about premium sound? Cornering lamps? I can tell you exactly where those pieces are at and how they connect. The only parts of these cars that are the same between those years are the seat harness, autolamp, power antenna, and the setup for premium sound. Thats not including the hundreds of other connectors and relays that are all in differnet possitions with different interfaces. You canot with out heavy modifacation take any main part of the harness and put it in another year car. We just had a thread on this recently. Quote Selected

wiper arms Reply #11 – December 09, 2006, 09:10:12 PM Hello!,YES! I have a base ATC (not electronic), when I have My 85 the heater core was shot, I swapped a 87 complete A/C system on that...When the dash is down, I guess It was not a bad idea, no?... But I never want to do this job again, euhhhh!...And THE ONLY reason I don't added keyless entry, it's because I have a remote for doors and trunk, and don't want to cut a hole in My drivers door for nothing, I have the keyless entry, But not installed :-)Best regards, Quote Selected
