Blower motor difference? November 07, 2006, 12:50:45 AM I was ordered in a new blower motor today I'm tired of that nasty ass nosie it makes and I have blown another blower resistor because of the blower motor. I looked at work add they give a different part number for the 84-84 than they do for an 88 both with manual heat/ac. So does anyone know what the difference is or if they will work either way. I do have and 88 cougar and the blower motor in it is good would it work? It is winter time here in the Ozarks and the toursit are almost gone so money is tite. Quote Selected

Reply #1 – November 07, 2006, 09:21:23 AM -ispdas long as the car had manual heat/ac in the 87-88, they are all the same from 83 thru 88. only the 87/88 cars with atc had a diff motor from the mark 7. all FORD numbers now change to the same one for manual, which is also the same for mustangs. hate about the tourist also. was there march of last year. cold, no/slim shows running. kids declared it their worst vacation, lol.... March isn't the best time most of everthing is closed still or just opening. Did you get to go to Silver Dollar City? The best time to come Branson is early may or late Sept. Not as many people but most everything is open. Also they do have a good Christmas time stuff if you are into that type of stuff. But thanks again. Quote Selected
Blower motor difference? Reply #3 – November 10, 2006, 11:23:56 AM I looked at the pics in the books a work and couldn't tell any difference in the 2 part numbers they gave me. So I oredered them both in and did a visual check for any differences. Both had all the same holes and are the same size. The shaft size is the same also. Even the motors cooling hole is the same size and in the same location. I bought the the one for the 88 model just because is was cheaper. I did notice a difference between mine and the factory unit. The factory was just a plain motor that is held in by a plastic mount. The new one both of them are a solid one piece unit made of steel. The new one works great. Quote Selected
