Question about locks.... Reply #2 – November 15, 2006, 07:17:06 AM I'm on it.I don't mind having 2 keys as the factory intended,I just need a set that works.I can actually do without the glovebox lock,as I never use it anyway, but if there's a choice,I'd like everything to work as it should. The Sport I'm getting has no keys.....at all.I'll call Autozone today from work and see what I can find. Thanks a lot. Question about locks.... Reply #5 – November 15, 2006, 05:02:52 PM Just out of curiousity could you use a mobile locksmith to come out and make you a key for the door/ignition and possibly trunk? I have been a dork a couple of times and lost my keys for my vehicles and the locksmith comes out and reads the VIN, opens up a book and reads something:dunno: and presto he grinds me up new keys. The last time cost me 110.00 bucks and took him 1/2 hr to complete once he arrived. Might work out to be cheaper than the locks/keys and shipping etc? Quote Selected

Question about locks.... Reply #7 – November 15, 2006, 05:43:48 PM I've got everything but the trunk and glove box from my parts TC (well, I've actually got the trunk, but it's seized). The lock cyl is still in the column and the door lock cyls are still in the doors. These are TC cylinders with "Turbo" plastic keys. If interested LMK and I'll try to make time to get 'em out. Question about locks.... Reply #9 – November 17, 2006, 09:01:04 AM I'll have to double check that the door locks work. I figure about $30 plus shipping (probably around $10 since you're in USA and I'm in Canada) should do it Quote Selected
Question about locks.... Reply #10 – November 17, 2006, 10:52:30 AM When I first got my 84 T/C I had the same problem. I just pulled the door panel and took out the door lock and went to the local locksmith and had 2 new keys about 1hr and $10 later. As for the ignition lock I just got a new one from the parts store. Cost me about $15. They offer them in both chrome and Black chrome. The door key even works the glove box lock. Besides if the car has keyless enrty you can just get into the trunk and get the master code. But do it witch ever way you want just get that bird up and running. Quote Selected

Question about locks.... Reply #14 – November 18, 2006, 11:10:51 PM I checked the door locks: the left one is seized (can't even get the key all the way in), the right one works. I sprayed some WD40 into it, I'll check it again tomorrow to see if it helped Quote Selected
