This past Weekend

Went down to the local Sunday morning cruise in spot on my way out to Montauk Point the other day.  Only snapped off a few pics, but I think I did good......

Oh dear God, did you get any shots of that F430??? It's the hardtop Ferrari next to the drop-top 360 you actually took a picture of. And I see a 944 and a 911 turbo behind that rod thingy too. And that GT in Gunmetal/Silver, grr!

No chance on the 430. That was right after it pulled in.  A few seconds later people were all over the two Ferraris so pics were a no go.  The GT owner actually popped the engine bay cover.  A pic would've been the backs of heads.

Here's some pics at the lighthouse.  The statue is a memorial to fisherman lost at sea.

This last pic is of the lens that was in place from 1903-1987 It's a Fresnel lense order 3.5.  Prior to this was a Fresnel Lense of the First Order which was shaped the same, but much larger.  It broke in 1903 and was replaced by this smaller one.  The smaller lense rotated much faster.  The large lens took 2 minutes to turn.

I've seen about 5 GT's now, and a GT500. The GT500 was at the racetrack, but it was some punk kid with daddy's money who couldn't even hit 13's! The officials tried to line him up against the old Nismo truck, but I intimidated him too much! (Worst light of the night was a .050 and a 4wd truck with traction bars absolutely flies the first 330') :D

If I woulda had my camera with me, I would have some pics of a Red GT, it was supercharged, and wow. Plus a few 60s Stangs, and Cobra Kit car with a 5.0HO, and a few nice looking cars, at a Ford dealership. I still have pics of a Carshow from this summer I need to post with a 78 Tbird you guys will like.

Nice lighthouse. I actually took a pic of my old '88 cat next to Nova Scotia's most famous lighthouse about ten years ago:

Every Sunday at the old OBI lot.  They fixed up the boardwalk really nice and installed a fishing pier.  When it gets colder it'll probably move down to Captree.  That way you have a warm place to sit inside and get breakfast/coffee.  It's an early morning gig.  A good show up time is 8:30 or 9:00

ALL GT's are supercharged...;)

Yesterday, coming home from a road trip me and a buddy were on, we saw a Black GT going the opposite way. He swore it was a Ferrari till I started rattling off specs about it...:dunce:

Nice pics Paul, I like reading about the history behind lighthouses.
