Sold the Cherokee

As of 6:00 PM local time the T-Bird is my only means of transportation. I sold the Cherokee, with its rotten floor, oil burning engine, bad front driveshaft, bad front axle joints, and blown rear end for $500. The guy wants to use it for parts (he has two other Cherokees).

So it's official. The T-Bird is gonna get a salt bath :toilet: I've just gotta dig it out of the snow drift that is currently burying it (I left it buried to discourage myself from driving it)

Hopefully I'll be able to find a small 4X4 truck (Ranger, S10, Toyota, Nissan, etc) within a week or two...

just keep running through the coin operated car washs, most people dont do that because its cold, but itll help prevent salt damage
It's Gumby's fault.

But Shawn, there's two schools of thought on the salt issue.  I was told recently, on this board I think, that keeping the car dry over the winter is better because water "activates" the salt and lets it flow into crevices and places you'd never be able to get to.

Brian's right. If you keep the car wet it'll rust faster than if you keep it cold and wash it off when the weather gets warm. I've got so much undercoating on this thing that hopefully the salt won't even touch the metal
