double check

i compaired my driveshaft to a stock mustang one and measured 3.5" difference. is this correct? im going to get the D&D t56 kit, and eather need them to give me a different length DS, or take the one they give me and have it lengthened or,... have my aerostar DS cut down and put on the new yoke from the T56kit to make up the difference  for the chassis's. only reason i ask is, i rember hearing that it was only a 3" difference, but i measured 3.5" just wanted to double check. i dont want my DS bottoming outand messing up the output shaft, or something.
