quick project update

well, i took some time offa workin on the car for various reasons. got back to it a lil bit last weekend, and some more today.
got the K-member fitted in its final position w/the help of this spacer

they are 3/8" thick and built from a s piece of 6061 aluminum we had layin around the shop. also drilled out the rear mount pads to match the mustang pattern and got whole unit bolted in solid. control arms and camber plates are out to the powdercoater. if i can get my hands on a set of 94-5 spindles this week, i can assemble the front suspension next weekend.
put the strut tower brace in for kicks, it will hafta come back out obviously to set the motor in:dunce:

and started this project:

it is dern amazing how well a 2" wide piece of rect. tubing fits in that channel. big part of this project, lookin good so far:pbb:

Got some more s you can make more spacers from?

I like what youre doing, ive had an interest in the through-the-floor connectors, but i dont have the skill, nor does anyone local have the skill to do it. Plus i dont have the money to pay someone. Youre going to have a pretty sweet car.
It's Gumby's fault.

nope. i made these spacers from the only piece of 3/8 i could put my hands on. we dont do a lot of work with flat stock.

dunno about sweet. shes gonna be a lil rough around the edges and probly more harsh(form follows function) than most people would appreciate, but thats how i like em :welder:

I take it you got your CC plate issue sorted out then?

I'm thinking about the through-floor SFCs on the 84TC (and a few other  pieces) since I don't plan on a cage in it.

Looks like some good progress though.  I spent my freetime this weekend welding motor mounts and shock brackets...:welder:
...and washing the Tbird after I got stuck in that rain we got Friday afternoon....grrrr....

yup, got a new left side built, and off to get coated. shoulda got a pic of the new plate before PC, but forgot the camera. still need to flip the bolts in the backin plate so the "leg" will be to the outside and not inhibit my neg camber adjustment, but thats simple enough.
the thru floors are lookin to be a pretty straight forward deal, my way at least. ive seen some write-ups that seem over complicated to me.
the rear subframe channel is up and in from the front channel. i want them to slide pretty far into the rear channel, so my connectors will also kick up/in.

you dont know anyplace i could snag a set of 94-5 spindles on short order, do ya?
