Exotic Cars on the Prowl

Driving around 2 days ago I met a new Shelby GT-500 at a stop sign. Then yesterday I passed a convertible Lambo on the highway. So it looks like the weather is turning a bit warmer and the summer cars are starting to come back out. I just find it interesting to see what exotic/fast cars are out there and running around.

So what have you seen in your neck of the woods recently?

I saw an old Lambo too, which is odd because I've never seen one on the road where I live. Other than that, no real exotics. Just a ton of motorcycles and all the beautiful classics that crawl out of garages this time of year.

Yesterday in the pouring rain, some maniac was blasting around in a mint '67 Camaro with the windows down.

its SUCH a breath of fresh air around here when it gets warm. there really are a LOT of old cars around here! it never seemed that way to me in the past, but then again i wasnt really paying attention to that! there's plenty of weekly cruise-ins during the summer and the parking lot's always packed!

i end up just going out for a seemingly useless and wasteful drive just to see how many old cars i run into!

personally i cant wait until classes are done so i can start driving the big ol' buick! that thing turns heads!!!! i was gonna do this when i joined here but never did--i want to make a video from inside the car as im driving it, that or streetfire exhaust video :giggle: or both. but its really neat. a straight 8 at least as i hear it sounds NOTHING like a v8. i like the v8 better lol CANT HELP IT but im not complainin'!

whats also great is that rare 50 degree day in the middle of the winter where the roads happen to be clean, and ill go out for a drive and run into like 5 really old cars on a 20 minute round trip! you and your car become stir-crazy!!!!

you know whats funny? you mention 'exotics'. now that im so into the antique car hobby, if a new lambo pulled up next to me id be staring at it. but then if a '70 hemi cuda or something pulled up on the other side, yup, f the lambo. i honestly couldnt give a  about any new exotic cars. few years ago thats ALL i thought about lol. the car that it my nickname here was the one i wanted SOOO bad. now the only new cars i care about are the big three's new retro-styled cars--mustang, challenger, charger, camaro....gee i wonder why....guess i really cant count them, they look like...OLD cars! :giggle:
1987 20th Anniversary Cougar, 302 "5.0" GT-40 heads (F3ZE '93 Cobra) and TMoss Ported H.O. intake, H.O. camshaft
2.5" Duals, no cats, Flowmaster 40s, Richmond 3.73s w/ Trac-Lok, maxed out Baumann shift kit, 3000 RPM Dirty Dog non-lock TC
Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...
1988 Black XR7 Trick Flow top end, Tremec 3550
1988 Black XR7 Procharger P600B intercooled, Edelbrock Performer non-RPM heads, GT40 intake AOD, 13 PSI @5000 RPM. 93 octane

There's a 66 Sting Ray 427 Vert in Blue with sidepipes that makes me cry every time I see it and hear it go by banging through the gears. Old geezer bought it IN 66 and it's perfect.

Good stuff guys!

O yeah, by 'exotic' I just meant anything that wasn't normally seen and a bit special. Could be a true exotic or just a VW Thing. As for me I like muscle cars that handle or sports cars with muscle.

And yes, seeing and hearing a muscle car in action is a sight to behold. I have a friend here that bought a '67 Shelby GT-500 off the lot back in early 1968. He said they were having a tough time moving them due to price. He still runs it on the road and on the track at events like Shelby meets. A pack of Shelbys coming around the curve at PIR under throttle is a sight and sound to be enjoyed!

Does it count that I can go into my garage and see my dad's '66 Chevelle?  :D

There are ALWAYS muscle cars buzzing around here when the weather is nice.

Only if you can convince him to fire it up and hit the road. :)

I don't think so lol. Although I get the same feeling when I look out my door at my '64 Fairlane...
or go to my cousins and see his '80 T/A, '79 T/A, and '79 Camaro...
or to my friends and see his '56 Bel Air

Alright, now I'm depressed. I want to play with me cars but I'm stuck at work.:toilet:

Recently I've seen a new 911, Cayman S, 1970 Boss 302, BMW M6 and a Viper ACR. Last summer I saw a Murcielago, a Ford GT and a F355.

I really need to start carrying my digital camera at all times. Today when I was dropping my daughter off at the mall there was a ZO6 parked next to a Lancer EVO at the back of the lot.
