I have tomorrow off, and the weather was beautiful. so I went racing! Stupid Layla won't pass tech (leaking oil from bad machine work on head) so I took the truck. Yes, that's right, my truck. Check out the package:

Out of the other 4, I never count the 1st run (bad voo-doo), 2 runs had time-clock issues (as in dumb-but ricer boy left before tree activation), and 1 run was aborted (went into safe mode). I'm proud of the 10:16 to 10:52 package, very consistent. Of course, once the sun went down, it started going faster. Notice 6 of the 11 passes were better then .100 lights, including 3 in a row and the last 2. Not bad for a stick-shifted, foot-brake launched 19 second truck. Iwas sleeping on 3 of the lights, and got distracted on the .6 one. The .104 I was trying for my normal good light but encountered some bad wheel-hop. The really funny thing is, out of the 15 slips, 10 were wins because the other guy red-lit or slept sooo bad at the tree. The 10:52 pass was against a 13.90's blown GTP and I had him to the 330' he left so late. The best times were launching @6000 RPM, dumping the clutch, and slamming every gear with a bone-rattling "crunch"! The more I babied it or tried to "drive" it, the slower it went, so I beat on it more! There's a 1-hour plus gap to drool on a 1990 IROC that was tubbed with a twin-turbo big-block that ran 8.50's @160!!! I have a video of it launching, it's soooo cool! Street legal too, though I doubt it's ever street driven. The baddest real street car there was a 70-80 year old guy with a green 4-door 73 Nova with black steel wheels that went 12.40's on motor!! There was a pretty sweet White 67 Cougar going 12.00's on spray (4-Speed car though). OK, I'm done for the night, have to work on car tomorrow, must race TC soon!!!
how the hell did you get 15 passes? at my strip (atco) your lucky if you show up on the good nite (tuesday) and there arn't any gamblers you get 5-6 before it gets crowded. englishtown, your lucky if you get 3 tops. i saw 15 and almost had a heart attack lol.
nice job tho, last time i went i saw a explorer running high 18s all nite, and a very high 17second econoline van. what kinda truck was it?
On test'n'tune around here, if you get there when the gates open, 6pm, youre lucky to get 4 in, from 6-11
A very, very stock 1996.5 Nissan Harbody King Cab 4x4. It has the 2400 4-Cyl from the 240SX and a 5-Speed manual with 4.88:1 posi's on locking axles. I launched in 2WD for fear of destroying my transfer case. It's got 130K miles and the only mod is Royal Purple oil and a really good tune-up on top of 30"x10.5" true M&S tires. It's only supposed to get 16-18 MPG and I'm getiing 18-20 so I know it's tuned pretty well. I've been chasing a CEL that comes on and off for awhile so I got to diagnose that down to the front O2 sensor going dead lean at WOT. Replacing it today. :D I think I should take it bracket racing with the 19.1x's it runs really consistent. And now I have a really good baseline for dropping my dial-in further down the rounds.
