Title: Lower Intake Coolant Tube
Post by: 4thqtr on July 17, 2006, 09:21:47 PM
Engine: 5.0

Any pointers on how to get this thing off the lower intake? Seems like a pretty big bolt (is it double-sided?). It's the big one that connects the metal coolant tubes to the front of the lower intake on the passenger side (picture attached below). Also, the lower intake is off the car.

Any help appreciated! This thing is tough.

I think it is about an 1 1/16 nut. They are very tight. They are hard enough when still connected to the engine.  Good luck.

  It will unscrew.

Thanks guys, got it out this morning using the BFW (Big F-ing Wrench) tip. I guess I just needed a good meal and to put more back into it.

But it's a lousey idea if you want to reuse it, as there are a pair of rubber "O" rings inside to seal it...
