check it out, tell me whatcha think. not sure what the fate of the tbird will be as of right now but i am going to fight to keep her. the wife says one toy and one daily are enough....whats up with that....lol
Is that a Mach 1, a Cobra, or a GT? It can't seem to make up it's mind.
dood! NICE!
LOL...i was wondering if anyone was gonna catch any of that.
its all 3 actually...lol
Thanks man!
Sweetness! Good luck with it.
So what is it really? Or at least importantly what does it have in it?
Tail looks black, so I'm gonna say Mach1 w/stripping removed and a cobra front bumber.
Maybe? 04'?
Ok, after 2nd look
04' GT w/
Cobra bumber
Mach1 hood w/shaker and mach1 black tail
Seats don't look like the mach1 or cobra, so that's why I'm going w/GT, and it looks like you might have an anniversary badge-2004
it is a 2000 GT. the body has about 80k on it total. the smoked headlights and later side scoops throw ya....
cobra:
it has 18k on the 32 valve dohc 2000 cobra frpp crate engine (with the updated intake), trans, exaust, computer, wireing, front bumper cover, front and rear cobra brakes, inst. cluster. (complete changeover)
mach 1:
its got a mach 1 hood, complete shaker intake setup, 3 pt strut tower brace, front chin spoiler, rear deck spoiler, springs, shocks/struts, swaybars and wheels.
aftermarket:
frpp/ford raceing ceramic coated shorty headers, flomaster catback with mach 1 rolled tips, PHP intake spacer, BBK twin/65mm TB, k&N, frpp radiator, aluminum driveshaft, stainless braded brake lines, frpp 03 cobra front LCAs, sub frame connectors.
needs:
a friggin system. ford could never get the sound system down, in anything.
dude....if price isn't an issue, i'd nail it, regardless of the situation! :D
That's the kinda of deal that doesn't come around but once in a blue moon...good luck!;)
Nice, im hoping to be driving a focus sometime here soon the cougar is penny and diming me.
yeah, i saw it and knew it was "the one". i wasnt realy even looking, it just happened. i got it for less than it books out for as a GT with 18k on it. right deal, right time i guess. the only problem was is it was located in FL. i flew in sat morning and got home early in the morning monday.
i wasnt even thinking of the tbird untill the woman asked me what i was gonna do with it. it deffinetly HAS to be moved as i have the stang and the ranger here as well as her car. the tbird will likely go to my sisters or mothers untill i can figure out what to do. i realy want to complete it. i could also sell it and all the parts i put together and pay for half the stang. thats what she wants me to do. im gonna avoid that at all costs, even if it means putting it on the back burner for now...shes still my baby.
any one interested in it? has 90-95% of the parts.
Dude that's cool. A Cobra-motored, Mach 1 look-a-like, Y2K GT! I'd put the Mach 1 striping on it and just call it a Mach 1, little easier to explain that way. ;)
dude that thing is a beast. I know you had to have toasted some ricers on the trip back with that thing. Congrats man.
cool ride.
but could be better with a 03 cobra motor :)
yeah, it would. but we cant have it all sometimes. i realy wanted an 03-04 cobra but this car was about a third of what it would have cost me for one. i honestly think the blower wine would drive me nuts while cruising on the highway. sure its sweet as hell when your ripping through the gears though. ins would have been much higher as well. not too mention i wasnt even looking for a car like this. just happened to be a deal i couldnt pass up. this one has plenty of power anyhow and i averaged just over 31 MPG on the way home. the extra 60 hp or so would probably just get me in trouble anyway...
You could call it a Mach 1 Cobra Jet;)
Penny and diming? Lucky man. Mine seems to Loonie-Toonie me at every turn.
(will make sense to our northern brethren)
:canada:
Maybe, but the seats are the biggest give away that it's not a mach1. I remember a guy at a cruise calling his car a cobra R, but the bumber said "MUSTANG GT", with the mustang letters only colored in.
I personaly like it without the stripe. I've considered removing it so many times on my mach1, but can't bring myself to modify mine. Car looks good shame302.
yep...the mustang seats dont compare at all to the mach 1 seats. nether do the cobras realy. the mach 1 seats are probably one of the most comfortable seats in a ford to date.tey wrap around you like the car is giving you ahug.....
Oh, I forgot. I'm not the biggest Mustang man out there, but that is one nice setup. Looks well done, and like a terror.
Thanks guys! i have been driving it around for about a week now and couldnt be happier. the power is nice, it gets alot of looks, heck it even gets girls hootin and hollerin...
im trying to come up with a few things to make it a little more mine. maybe paint the hood flat black like the machs, but further out covering the whole cowl. id lore likely just get some "32 valve DOHC" decals i found in flat black and put them on the hood next to the shaker. i have some polished 01 cobra wheels. they are for the tbird but i think they would look better than the mach1 wheels on the mustang right now. the T56 i have set asside for the tbird might find a home in there is it turns out i cant keep the bird. id realy like to throw a decent cd/mp3 player in there as well as some speakers and amps possibly. some better seats would be cool.
i never realy saw myself as a stang owner but man, i love this car. the problem with it is, it only makes me want to work on the tbird even more than before!
also, all of you that may have been thinking about the 13" cobra brakes....stop thinking about it and just do it. they are so sweet and well, well worth the money and effort.
LOL...at inspection a guy walked over and says..."that aint a snake, its a gt" and mumbled something off about kids putting svt badges on gts... so i said nope, it aint. it was borne a gt. then i popped the hood. he then walked off abd spitefully mumbled something about it still not being a cobra. hes right, its not...lol
