Title: More air out calls for more air in.
Post by: Tbird232ci on April 29, 2006, 04:42:06 PM
Ive been talking about doing this for some time. I went on ebay, bought one of those 50-60 dollar cold air intakes for a 5.0 mustang. That, coupled with the adapter for my bypass valve, and the coupler from a powerstroke make it go in almost like it was meant for the car.

The benefits are well worth it. The cars throttle response got much better, compaired to the factory flex tube. I used the cheesy air filter untill i get a 90* coupler and a bigger filter. All-in-all, im really happy with it, other than all the couplers being blue.

Can you notice a difference in sound at all? Or is it all drown out by the mega-exhaust?

Its a pretty big sound difference, before, all the sound was coming from out back, now its coming from both ends. The turbo spool is much louder, and my bypass valve sounds like a blow off now. Its pretty sweet.

Nice man, it really looks like it fits like a glove.  How's she pull now with the extra airflow?

Nice. What mods have you done to that 2.3T?

T3/T04B V-trim hybrid, MBC at 21psi, , bosch bypass valve (for now), 3" exhaust, cold air, advanced timing, disconnected knock sensor, a/c and EGR delete, 255lph high pressure pump, an older style kirban, and a tri-ax

Once i start finishing up some of the little projects, fixing a few things, and sure that all the things i did are working properly, i have a handful of other mods i want to do to it, a little more serious mods ;)

Got some other stuff to take care of first. Carlisle is right around the corner.

Im hoping that if i can get it off the line, i could be at a low low 14, or kiss the 13's.

Biggest problem is you cant hotlap one of these things.

Shawn, I know you said that you used the stinger 3" single setup, but what did you use for a ler?  I think I am going to go with the stinger 3" dual setup and mustang tails but I cant find any 3" inlet 2.5" outlet lers.  do they exist?

stingers y-pipe goes from 3", and splits to dual 2.5" out, so you need 2.5" in and out lers.

Mine is a complete 3", so i needed 3 in and 3 out
