Hi, I have a 1985 Cougar with a fried 3.8L V6. I found a 3.3L 200 inline 6 out of a 1980 mustang thats in really good shape. Im already assuming the motor mounts have to be changed/modified. Which brings me to my real question. Im just curious if anyone knows if its difficult/huge job etc etc.

You would need the I-6 K-member as well......
 Honestly, unless you plan on really working that 200 I6, it won't really be worth your time.

I'm planning a swap in my 83 Tbird in the future, but it will be using an AL head from Austrailia and a turbo.  The US heads suck, bigtime and are the strangling point on an otherwise good engine.

well sence its out of a fox mustang, i'd say it shouldnt be to bad,  your kmember  and the stangs should be the same, or dam close just swap em if not, so the mounts may even still work. and again, sence its in a fox mustang that transmission should work too.

what are you going to do with the I6?

Oh it will all swap in, but the I6 Kmembers are different.  It just takes alot of work to squeeze much out of the US head with the integral intake...they suck.

Paul- I know some other folks are wanting to or are doing an I6 swap....I'll just be the only one with the hybird X-flow/US200 I6 turbo Tbird :D (parts are FINALLY due in this month! YAY!!)

Depends on the year.

I can't remember when they switched to the 2/3 of the SBF bell pattern.  I know the engine I have has it.  It was either '80-81.  If the starter is high on the engine, then it is the earlier type.
