Title: 1988 5.0 T-bird headers
Post by: outofnothing5 on March 13, 2006, 01:13:23 AM
I am wanting to buy a new exhaust for my 'bird next month and wondered if there are any clearance issues with bbk shorties.
If anyone has any experience with them please let me know.

BBK shorties fit with no problems. It's worth noting though that I have mine installed with a Mustang H-Pipe.

The older versions generally rub the stearing shaft slightly(mine does as did the set on the blue Bird I had), dunno if this has been corrected but even so, it's not a big issue.

If you have a column shifter, there may be some interference there as well, although most people report being able to get around that.

Remember...headers are made for the engine, not for the car that the engine is in... ;)
