I been all over the parts store sites around me and none of them list a motor mount for my 86TC or any TC at all. WTF???? i know chuck makes the nice poly ones but i need a quick fix now as i was powershifting second when all of a sudden the hood moved and the shifter went far to the right LOL. Im not interested in a set of chucks mounts for this car cuz i need to get some for my turbo project car. any help would be greatful
I MIGHT still have a set of motor mounts from the '84 TC I pulled the engine from...I'll have to go look and see tomorrow.
thats cool let me know. I rigged it up so its drivable. I guess on my 86 it had a wire that is wrapped around the mount to keep it together, well the wire is what broke. So i went to home depot and got some braided wire and some clamps and rigged it. its holding good so far
where are u located i think my dad has a set of them from the 88 that he just striped down maybe i could get him to send them, correct me if im wrong will they fit or no i have no clue
'87-88 motor mounts are different from '83-86 ones.
Demented- do you need the entire motor mount, or just the bushing?
83-85 and 86-88
the 86's use the same mounts as the 87-88's
I have a set of 88 mounts and they are different than the 86 mount that is on the car. not sure if the other would work but they are definently a different design.
RedLXI think my rigged up setup will work fine but if i have problems i will get back with ya
Do the motor mounts in your car have the Torx head at the top of the mount?
Interesting.
Motormenace has a set of Chuck W mounts in his 86, which were for the 86-88's.
Chuck would be the man to be able to answer you better.
