Title: cold air intake
Post by: notorious1538 on February 02, 2006, 05:49:23 PM
anyone know of any manufacturers that make a cold air intake for the 3.8. i'm looking to free up some horsepower with some mild mods since i decided that going all out with a new engine would be too expensive.

You're most likely going to wind up making your own, or modding one to work.  Look at the 5.0 ones for Mustangs as a start I guess.

I've just make my own, so I'm not 100% sure who has what as I never thought they were worth what they charged for them.

None from the factory. You could probably make a mustang one work, if you were brave enough to cut one up.

Uh, my 3.8 comes from the factory with a cold air intake. The pre-heater likes to kick the temp back up to 90 degrees though.

Just hose-clamp a cone filter on the throttle body.  I'm serious.
