Title: Ranger wheels
Post by: 50tbrd88 on January 05, 2006, 05:18:14 PM
I've decided I need to do something with my old wheels/tires off of my '01 F-150.  They've been setting in my barn since I upgraded to 16x10 Stonecrushers with 33X12.5 Pro Comp tires.  I am seriously thinking about trading them in on a set of good looking yet affordable wheels for my Ranger.  Its a 97 2wd shortbed reg. cab.  The thing is I can't think of anything that would look good on it.  I went to the tire shop and didn't see anything that really turned my crank.  I want to stay at a 16'' tire or less as this thing sees a lot of miles so I don't want to have to pay big money on tires for it.  Anybody have any ideas?  I might lower it someday so that could be a factor.

yeah, they are required because of how far the hubs stick out. without the spacers you cant use a centercap ant that deffinetly looks worse......

Man that does look really good.  I'd love to drop a 302 in mine someday.  The power to weight ratio would be amazing.  If I had money to blow a 2/3 inch drop and a set of Chrome Bullits would probably be my number 1 choice.  Too bad this is my daily driver (about 60 miles a day round trip).

I actually had thought about that.  Those are good looking wheels but might be hard to find in good shape.  Were they 16's or 15's?

yeah, ive been planning too rebuild the 302 in my tbird for the ranger and drop it in that but im afraid id get bagged at inspection. it would be safer to use an explorer 5.0 out of a 96 newer being as mines a 96. (federal law basically states that you have too use an engine of the same year or newer) thats pretty much what holds me back. the truck is already useless with the 2.3 and 2wd so why not a 5.0 should keep about the same gas mileage. i still have a hard time deciding weather or not to go up a little with the truck or down....the one in the pic is definetly as low as id consider....

pic above for down and below for up: waddya think?
