I wanted to do the Griswold thing and string the entire outside with lights.
My parents won't let me do it. I don't know why :dunno:

There's this ginormous pine tree in my front yard.  It's probably about 20 feet high.  I have always wanted to string lights around it from top to bottom but I can't figure out how to get the lights to the top.  It's too flimsy to lean a ladder against and I don't have a cherry picker.  Any ideas?

exactly, what works best is those close line supports, or maybe some tube from a hardware store with a closepin in the top hole.
