Title: What a shame...
Post by: Thunder Chicken on October 03, 2005, 09:27:32 PM
Take a look at this car, and take a look at the mileage (shown in one of the pics). Poor thing must have sat for ten years...

Think it should be considered reporting that auction as a possible scam. It says the auction is for an '87 T-bird turbo, but then when you read the description, supposedly the auction is only for the gas cap. Riiiiight..

84K mi, probably has a bad tranny...I have one identical to it, that looks just as bad(if not worse). Mine has 104K mi and has not been tagged since '97. http://www.members.pen 15s.net/mr428/bluetc.jpg

I started it yesterday for the first time since shortly after hurricane Isabel. Suprizingly once I reinst the fuel filter(that was robbed for that scuba diving Stang convert I had) it fired right up. Kinda sad to think its still that willing to run, ancient gas and all. It will barely move because the tranny is burned up.

I was scratching my head on that one also. Why put that many pics up and not one of the gas cap?

That is the seller's way of letting people know he has a parts car without actually putting auctions up on eBay, thus avoiding eBay fees. If you wanted, say, the shifter bezel, you could email him and make arrangements, and eBay doesn't get any money. It happens all the time on eBay. It's against their policy and a very dangerous way to do things (if you ever do buy like this, be sure to pay with PayPal using a credit card so you can do a chargeback if need arises)
