So, I'm on my way home from work on the highway not too far from home and I hit the gas, pass a car, and then I get that dreaded "Oh ! there goes my heater core" smell. I changed it about 4 years back and run the heat in the summer so I was pretty sure it wasn't the heater core. Turned out to be the hose running from the metal pipe running next to the fuel rail to the bypass valve just before the firewall. Made it the last half mile home and found I had lost about 3/4 of my antifreeze. The hose was in fairly good shape and no sign of a bubble where it blew. The hole is more of a slice.
Just wated to vent and remind everyone I AM CURSED. Btw, my motor seems fine.......
That has happened to me also.
Errr thanks for reminding me i need to change my heater core too.
heatercore isnt that bad of a job..... only takes about 4 hours
Yeah, I'm glad it was the hose......I changed it last summer (changed them all as a matter of fact). oh well. Poop happens......
That same hose on mine leaks like an sob. I hate f*ckin with it.
