Sorry guys but you have lost one. Im gonna have to trade in my tank on a slimmer 240sx. easier for me to upgrade faster better handling and newer. the ol` t-bird just aint cuttin it anymore. oh ya and also since you guys have been so helpful you also get first dibs on it (87 3.8l) :D

I've always liked the 240SX. Simple for a puppies car and RWD. The 2400 12-valve engine is pretty much bulletproof as well (I had over 500,000 km on the one in my old family-owned-since-new King Cab truck with no engine problems) but the 5-speed trannies are known to be weak - the counter shaft bearings tend to get chewed up (I had three trannies in that same truck). You'll have fun, just watch out for the rusties. They rust out worse than any T-Bird ever could...
But not on parts, that's for sure. ;) Have fun with it, though. Anything RWD with more power than grip is good by me.
Just try not to base fox body lack of power on the 3.8L. It's like saying Corvette's are slow because the C4 sucked monkey balls. :D

That's for sure...my brother had an '89 240 he bought from some guy up in NJ, when he pulled the engine he found a couple big holes rusted in the front subframe :eek:
well. at least it's still RWD... :P
:stupid: but I think theyre cool cars just as said before watch for rust, up here in :canada: they get especially bad, theres only three that I know of in this city and one I know for a fact is full of tin, sheet metal screws, and rubber undercoating :hick: just make sure you check it out really good before handing over any cash

JERKS.. they are cool cars, even if they aren't american. I like all cars, as long as they are 1: fast 2: lux-o 3: both. though i do prefer fords.
I think that most puppiesboxes can be made nice aslong as you stray away from the turbo fart cans and wings taller than the trees. Oh, and driving a 5 speed like your car lives in the 6k-8k range and bounces off the rev limiter may make you look cool, but good luck catching up to someone who can drive.
I just wish the newer puppies-small-midsized cars where still rwd. I'd ditch my daytona and cougar quick and get somthing new =P . Sucks the only good new puppies Rwds out there is a Lexus IS 300 Luxury car...
I actually kinda like the 240, but it has got to be the coupe not the fastback. Good luck, have fun, and check in from time to time with updates!
