So, one of my cars has water in the drivers side floor. What is the likely culprit? Just the door surround weatherstrip, or could it be coming from somewhere else?
Possible it’s coming in from the fresh air intake from the heater box?

To borrow one of Claude's pics,
That drain, on the lower firewall, can get plugged from debris on the inside.
I always had problems with evergreen needles.
Does your car have a sunroof? There are drain lines from around the roof opening and they run down through the A pillar I believe. If clogged or split, they could be the culprit.
No sunroof. It must be something other than the door sill. Just sitting in the rain, it's getting wet. Haven't been able to really do a good job seeing if that heater box drain is clogged. Raining here and just not able to get up under the car to do a thorough job.
Might be the windshield glue has failed. This happened in my 88, the only thing holding the windshield in was the chrome trim. Actually came in handy, because I discovered it when I was taking the glass out to paint the car, and the windshield just popped out. Stand next to the car with the window open, reach in, and push out on the corners of the windshield. If it moves at all the glue has failed and it'll have to be removed and reinstalled.
I'm thinking you may be correct. It seems to be getting a little movement all across the bottom as best I can tell.
Getting a new windshield installed tomorrow. Hopefully that fixes the issue. It needed a new one. There are about a dozen or more little star cracks in this one. I've never seen one so beat up without a major crack. Cost was only $245, which surprised me. I was thinking it would be much more expensive.
Are you getting a Carlite windshield or an aftermarket one? The windshield on my car has little pits and scratches on it from 31 years of driving. I'd like a new windshield but I'd want it to be a NOS Carlite unit.
It's likely an aftermarket. I didn't even ask the question. This particular car is not worthy of NOS parts. This one is my hooptie hotrod! :)
Ok. Windshield changed. The installer did see a place near the top on the drivers side where he thought it could have been leaking. Now, I need a good soaking rain. :)
You were able to purchase a new windshield? I need to replace mine as it’s delaminating and looks to be leaking as well.
I have been wondering this too. Are new Carlite units still offered?
I looked at their website not too long ago and it wasn't listed so I'm assuming not and would be a NOS thing.
I did get a new one installed. Not a Carlite though. Just a generic brand.
