Title: TV Cable question
Post by: Slinky on May 30, 2018, 11:21:32 AM
So I just had my AOD rebuilt in my 88 Cougar. When I picked it up from the shop the mechanic asked me about the H.O. swap. I confirmed that I had done so. He told me that I should have gotten a TV Cable, and arm off of a Mustang instead of keeping the original. He said that it's causing to much pressure on the cable because the throttle body is different and could mess up my transmission if I use anything past 3/4 throttle. Does this sound right to you guys? I haven't seen any other posts suggesting this to be the case.

Nope. Stock stuff works fine. The end on the throttle body just needs to be adjusted: http://www.txchange.com/aodadj.htm
