So I finally pulled the trigger. 2015 Mustang GT Premium, 6-speed, Option package 401A (essentially premium sound and a few other bits), Guard Metallic, ebony leather, 20" wheels, Nav & security. Took delivery yesterday, but it was dark so not good for pics. Took some pics today at work as well. Once the weather gets a little better I'll get some actual nice, car-in-sunlight pics, but for now here are some iPhone photos. I intend to put the car on my hoist on Sunday and get some underside pics for those of you who are curious about the underside of the new Stang...
First, the night I brought it home. First night in the driveway with its roommate:

Kinda cheesy, but cool anyway - it shines a pony on the ground:

And sitting in the employee parking lot at work, after its first commute:
Aye. shaging Aye.
I'd give my left nut AND a kidney for one...same color, too. It's sharp.
Very nice
And the cluster. Yes, that says "Ground speed". Cheesy, yes.

But it could be worse. This is the information display in a Civic SI. Nobody does cheesy quite like the ricers:
Congrats!
Nice car. I like it a lot.
Gorgeous car!
Now that's what I call an upgrade!
Best of luck with it. Beautiful car!
Nice. Beautiful car :D. Is it your daily driver? I'm hoping you're not going to ruin it in the salt ;).
That Coyote gets up and goes doesn't it?
No fear, this car will never see salt. It is my daily driver for summer, but will share that duty with the Pimp Sled (some days you feel like pimpin', some days you feel like racin'). My father's giving me one of those prefab plastic sheds (10X10) that I will be moving some of the out of the garage to clear up the second bay for Mustang storage. This car will not be buried in snow like the Sled was!
And yes, that Coyote certainly does bark. I haven't really gotten on it yet because it's only got 200km on it (about 120 miles), but once it's broken in I shall thoroughly explore all 5 five liters of goodness...
I was hoping you weren't going to expose that car to the salt gods :).
You're car is pretty well broken in. I washiznitting 7000rpm in our '12 Mustang with 100 miles on the odometer ;).
Wow! Congrats!
Excellent color choice too!
Have you played with the cooled seats yet? A little early in the season to appreciate them yet. After having those, I don't think I can buy another car that doesn't have cooled seats.
Gorgeous car. Congrats!
The temperature hasn't hit 50 since I bought the car (here it is May 1 and the temp only got to 48 today). Needless to say the heated seats have been getting a workout, but alas, not the cooling function.
Question: Anyone know when these cars went into production? Mine was built Sept '14. I have found info saying the new style went into production in late August or early September, and mine appears to be the 3744th off the line (if I'm reading the VIN right), so it seems to be an early one. The business manager at the Ford dealership said it was the first new-style GT they've sold, but this is Nova Scotia so that doesn't surprise me
I dunno when production started but the VIN are somewhat random, defiantly do NOT come off line by sequence of VIN... The VINs are assigned in sequence as orders come in, actual build are scheduled on a date when all components are supposed to be in stock... That said it could be 3789th or 3699th etc, likely within a couple hundred either way...
Dunno how many are built per day, no doubt depends on how many shifts are running... Assuming it was built at Dearborn Assembly, in the old days 500-700 was a good number... Assuming 600(that may be waaay off) per day and it was 3600, was built six days into production...
BTW the warranty cards used to have the scheduled date coded on to them, a date of 01J would have been 1st day Sept(numeric would be 1-30 days for Sept)... Still that doesn't mean it actually came down the assembly line on the assigned day, for various reasons can be built days early or late...
I think it's a cool way the designers showed props to the car's heritage, what with being named after the P-51 Mustang
This car was built at Flat Rock. It looks like it was built on Sept 15, 2014, based on the numbers at the bottom:
Oh that's just great, built on my ex-wife's birthday... :punchballs:
Interesting one of my Mustang, Cobra, Shelby, Fairlane friends is also Sept 15...
could be worse.....Try owning a car built on St. Patty's Day. Everytime my Cougar gets a hair up it's ass I remember that this is in fact the assembly date. March 17th, 1987....
My Mustang was built on Valentine's Day, 2005.
Carm, I'm assuming the price on the window sticker is in CAD, is this correct? BTW, congrats on the purchase. I was contemplating trading in the Focus and my Dodge Nitro for one. We have 5 cars now and it's just me and the wife.....time to thin the herd a bit.....
Love the color too!
Paul: That is CAD (and it's a few thousand more than what I paid). Or Canuck Buck is worth about 82 cents US now, and higher destination charges add up to paying more. Here's a screenshot of the exact same car in US dollars based on a location of 04401 (Bangor, ME):

I did get one break though - my financing is at 1.9% for 72 months, versus the 5.9% offered in ME.
Nice side by side pics. both cars look great.
guard looks great in the sun. I really like that color. Great choice :)
