i see that the explorer fuel rail "SUPPLY" line to the regulator has crimps in the line itself.
it appears like this is oem with a "pair" of double crimps made into the fuel line spaced approx 6'' apart.
now why in the hell would they smush the fuel supply line like that.
hoping to hear from someone who knows the answer, kinda makes me "not" want to waste time using the lines on my youngest boys car "chance" until i cut, flair and braze the line.
Thus eliminate the crimps in the tubing itself.

also, the FPR on the explorer has two mounting connections, the fox has three
I don't like the idea of the crimps why not just run a mustang rail
well, it comes down to what i have lying around.
i have both fox and explorer,, i like how the explorer allows fuel to come in from the rear instead of u along the alternator.
just putting up information for people to see and note if they find it useful or not.
I'll take a look at the lines on my spare engine later today and see if they have the same crimps. I don't remember them from working with those lines in the past, but may just not have noticed.

Just took a look. I do have the crimps, but not as severe as the pictured ones. Also, they are in the return line, not the feed line.
Just looked closer at the picture, yours are in the return line as well.
Also, i use those same lines on my supercharged ranger, and they have no problem supplying the 42lb injectors with a 255lph pump. I would consider them more than adequate for mild to moderate builds.

Actually those crimps are for vapor lock and pulses in the return line. They restrict the return and speed up the flow. It works and it went by the wayside some years ago as i remember. The absense of a pulsator in the system made these crimps necessary. That is what the engineers figured. Ford changed the regulator mounting system in later years to a 2 screw system. The 3 screw system had a nasty habit of cracking the mounting pedistal. I posted a modified fuel rail some months ago on this subject.
