Title: Increasing compression?
Post by: mike969mb on June 13, 2005, 09:02:16 PM
If i were to up the compression with a rebuild, would i expect to see hp gains or not and if so how much if i say i did a 10:1 compression, i wouldn't be looking for any forms of FI in the future.

youd probably need to run at least 93 octane

theres a math formula for what you are asking out in my garage.  You gotta plug in known variables and other standard givins to come up with that data.
ill dig up the formula but do remember you need the exact cc including the head area down to the drop of water.

imho,, if you dont notice hp increase with a 10:1, then your probably just blissfully happy with what you have.  Your gonna notice and feel that change for sure.

well if your going from 8.1 to 10.1 u will pick up around 40hp give or take.
But u needed a better cam and intake to see any real power out of this.

i plan on getting new cam and intake, heads and all, but wanna rebuild the bottom end, if its 40hp gain or so i'll definitely do it.
