Hey folks!
Just registered on this forum and wanted to say hi. A few of you may know me from the NATO forum or TF, but for those who don't, I have an '86 TC which I bought for a whopping $600 back in '99. Mildly modified over the years (see sig). Now I am mainly focusing on "updating" the interior lighting as time allows. I guess that's about it for now. I gotta peruse the board a bit and see what I've been missing. :D
Hello and welcome! :D
Welcome Brian, there is alot more info here than NATO. I personally would rather be here :D
Welcome....
Thanks, guys...
Not sure if there are rules here regarding how photos are posted, so to err on the safe side I'll just post links.
Here's a few from a couple years ago when the new motor went in:

Welcome :).
I like how the center console controls look backlighted. It looks pretty awesome.
Welcome very nice car and the console switch plate rocks! Tell us your secrets! haha
Welcome!
Nice car! I think you enjoy yourself here.
Thanks! I can make it look good in pictures at least!
I have no secrets! I share everything I come up with with the community. I actually did a whole writeup on how I did the console switch plate HERE (http://natomessageboard.com/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=025891;p=1#000015)
Brian, can you make more of those switch plates to sell here? I am interested in one if you do and I know alot of others would be too.
I'm still undecided if I'm going to sell any. I was planning on waiting a little while to see how the whole shebang holds up to DD use. I don't know if or how much of that link you read though, but if I do sell the plates, it'll be only the plastic part I have to make at work. This is mainly due to the fact that I have very little free time -- especially now that I am working on next year's NATO calendar. I also don't want to be held liable if someone's car catches fire after doing this. I don't know how that would ever happen, but who knows. So that's where I'm at now. I'll probably start making the plates available at some point. It's been almost a month with no issues and I really don't foresee having any. If/when I do decide to sell them, I'll certainly put a post up here about it if there's interest.
I read through the whole thing a week or so ago, also commented on NATO (1988turbo) about these. would you be willing to sell these as a do-it-yourself kit with the back lights and inverter? just a thought Thanks
Hmmm... never thought of that. It would be difficult though. Either I would have to order a bunch of EL panels in different colors (which I don't have the spare cash to do), or the wait time to get one panel "kit" would be 1-2 months for everyone who wanted one. So I'm not sure if it would be a real viable option since, for the most part, people are rather impatient... and I have a terrible memory.
Welcome! I saw your lighted panel on NATO, very cool! Also, we like pics here. Image tags are fine, warnings with pic heavy threads are appreciated though.
Welcome!!
I'd be willing to help in any way I can, if it would be obtaining the EL panels or assembly definitely something to think about.
welcome to the board!
