I noticed since the weather has warmed up that my temp guage is being real kind to me ,, almost too kind.
my needle points to the left half of the "N" on the "Norm" display of the temp guage.
seems kind of wierd to me. It pretty much stays there and barely gets off the "n".
When was the last time the t-stat was replaced or the cooling system flushed?
thats where mine was in my 3.8L, untill the radiator slowly sprung a leak
my dads car is lucky to get that high up there sometimes
radiator, fan clutch, hoses, tstat, temp sensor and sending unit are new from my rebuild about a year and a half ago
You might look into a new stat.....
Agreed. Have you also tried grounding out the gauge?
I didnt think that me electric gauge worked at all until. It only dispalys th bottom bar. A couple of weeks later I ran out of coolant, and it well almost all the way to the top. Mine could still be bad or out of range or something though.
ill go ground the guage,, but i know it sweeps cause let it warm to temp then put the fan in a bind and let it heat up to about 3/4 the way.
One thing,,, ive been putting off the heater core job. i use to have the hoses routed to my ac core but that became a problem with too much heat inside the car plus heat when i did not need it.
I hooked my hoses back to the heater core and installed a cutoff valve inline with the heater core. with the water going through the heater core,, temps read just about perfect. When the core is cut off,, it runs real real cool.
