Just out of curiosity, would a TFI module off of an 84 HO work on an 88 SO?
To my knowledge ALL car TFIs are the same... As long as it has 6 pins on the end connector it will be fine(some early vans & P/Us only had 3)..

the only thing is,, if its the type that is black,, i would not use it. those were pretty much trash from what i recall.
The last time (and only time) I picked one up for the Cougar I grabbed an aftermarket one made by Borg-Warner. Been on the car almost 7 years now without a hitch.....
