Title: Cut me some slack? Err...frame?
Post by: ZondaC12 on June 30, 2011, 10:42:49 PM
My friend's dad has been trying to get ahold of his friend at Keystone to see if he found a front clip, apparently they have yards all over the country, so there ought to be a fox thundercat SOMEWHERE. But if not, does anyone on here have a stripped parts car/car in process of this that has perfect front rails and could cut them out and sell them to me? I need, of course, what's inside each shock tower (to clarify just in case, the frame on both sides needs to be fixed) and ideally, if it could be cut so that there's some excess on either end, that would be best. He could certainly fabricate the section, but this would save him that trouble and of course have all of the little tiny holes and other factory features which would make me all giddy and stuff any time I pulled a front wheel and saw it all correct still. :rollin:

there's a guy on FEP who fabricates front frame rails.... won't have the pretty little holes which cause rot, but it's the same shape.... think he sells them by the foot

He might be still around. hasn't been there for a couple months...

If your j/y(s) cant get them, mine can but I will have to have them do all the cutting which will be $$$ plus I dont know how you plan to ship it... that will also be big $$$. But if all else fails...

I hate how I'm veering this more towards a tech thread now....but what about holes for the K-member bolts? There are tubes inside the factory rails, is it not necessary to fabricate those as well? Are they structural/not?

It's all in my build..... I made sleeves using 1" tubing I think... keeps the frame from crushing when you bolt up the K member....

here's my fix starting on post  #1033
