Post by: TBeeman68 on February 04, 2011, 01:12:29 PM
I've got a 95 Coug with a 3.8l in it.  The transmission is jacked but i have transmission out of a 96 3.8l mustand.  What type of modifications do i have to do in order to get this transmission to work.

Thank you
Brendon

Try here: http://www.tccoa.com

They deal with your car, which is a MN-12. We deal with FOX Thunderbirds and Cougars, which are different animals ;).

The first mod would be to actually do some research, instead of just popping in and asking someone to tell you what you need to do.

Glad you found the site and all, but don't be lazy.

If they're both autos they should swap right over.

Yeah, they should be the same transmission. I'm not sure if the lengths are any different or anything like that though.

Nope. Same exact trans. Just make sure you reuse EVERYTHING that is attached to the one in your Cougar and you should be fine. And don't forget to mark your driveshaft at the axle before you remove it.

I can get you a 4R70W & the computer that was in the car with it, if you'd like to go that route.
