i got mine out of a 97 ford aerostar with a 7.5 .very very minor modifications were necessary to make em work. just seems like every ones running 3:55s or 73s here. i know it takes alot to get my cat moving and the gas mileage aint bad either
I got em..... they work well with AOD..... :burnout:
i had to take less than 1/32 off tip of one tooth on pinon gear to make it work.i realy dont like doing things that way but it worked great no whine nothing
cause cross pin woulnd fit withe cougars carrier and i threw the aerostarts carrier out
I am running 4.10's in the 8.8 in my 83 but I also have a Tremec TKO.
Darren
i used to have a tremec in one of my stangs. man those things are heavy! i remeber the first time i pulled the trans . i was on my lift and am used to manhandling t5s without my tranny jack ,boy was i wrong almost dropped it.the 4:10s aint that bad in the aod xr7. its my gfs daily driver and she doesnt drive fast.
Went from 3.73s to 4.10s behind my T5. I wouldn't think twice about doing it again...cheap HP and no real change in MPG.:D
I am running 410's in a spool with no problem on the street with a 3500 convertor in a c-6
I'm keeping the 3.55's. They seem to be a great all around gear, especially here in town doing mostly local driving.
damm 4:10s w a c6 and a 3500stall. real streetable lol.
3.73s+2800 stall=traction issues. Ask me how I know. 4.10s would be fun but I'd have more trouble getting the car moving from a stop;)
I have absoulutly no problem with that set up ,I also have a reverse manual valve body in the trans in my TBird .
My 73 Montego has 430's in a detroit locker with a 3200 stall convertor in a c-6 , also with no problems .

4.10's with a t5 here...love it
how do you figure? 4.10's increase acceleration
i'm running 4.10's with an eaton locker, C6 and 3500 stall in the capri.. been on the road for about a week now, driving everyday and i couldn't ask for a better combo with the 408
Now turbo88xr7 knows what hes talking about
anything lower than 4.10's are highway gears in my book :p
The 3.73's seem to be nice combo gears. Interstate travel at 3200-3400 is movin out, but it won't trap the rpm high enough for the aod at the track. I dont think I'll miss the lower top speed and higher rpm on the interstate much. 4.10's ftw.
