About a month ago my wife picked up a 92 Calypso LX Stang. So thats her new project. The original plan was to stuff a 331 and a T5 in it. That changed. She wants something more driveable. Over the winter she's getting my 306 out of my 93 LX. I get the 331 to stuff in my 93. Good deal on my end.

Now for my new project. Im not quite sure how I convinced her this was a good idea but......
A friend took me to a mom and pop junkyard on Friday afternoon. I didnt even know the place existed (kinda suprising for me). Well, after we walked around awhile. I stumbled upon my new project. A 1980 Fairmont Futura 2 door fastback. Here's the rundown on the car:
Inline 6 banger
Auto
Dark red exterior
py red interior
88,xxx miles on the clock
1 owner car
NO RUST (the car was garaged kept by an old couple)
The reason they junked it was due to a leaky fuel tank (wouldnt pass PA inspection).
Picking it up for $275 clean and clear title.
I know its not a T-bird or Cougar, but I couldnt resist. My parents bought one new back in 1980 and I always liked that car. Im smelling a 460 and C4 set up in this. 5 lug swap. Original Torque Thrusts on the front and 15x8 steelies on the back with a 275 rear tire. Stang 8.8 with 3.90's and a tear drop hood. Ill have some pics of the Fairmont up during the week.
Two nice scores! I really like colors, in and out, on the Stang. Looking forward to seeing the Fairmont too!
Oh yeah you hit the jackpot! Great rides! And lots of po-tential!
