Title: repinning harness to computer
Post by: Snatchrick on April 28, 2005, 03:47:57 PM
I'm finally getting around to converting my car to maf couse of the cam swap and according to the one website tom refered me to a while back, pin number 9 and 50 should be empty. Pin number 9 is empty on the harness but pin number 50 isn't. Should i just take out the wire that is occupying the space that should be empty (#50) and proceed with putting the signal wire for the maf meter in?

87 turbo coupe with a 5.0 from a grand marquis. Standard output of course. The year of the engine is unknown.

Are you using the harness from another vehicle, or are you talking about the original TC harness???

Assumining you are converting a 5.0 harness, just disconnect pin 50 and put the connection to the MAF in. That was used for the cruse controll on some of the later Grand Marquis, LSC etc... And is why the LSC boys have to install the earlier stand alone cruse controll module, to retain their cruse when converting to MAF.

You did say the cam is swaped to a HO firing order?

yeah it's the different firing order. I'm not sure what the harness came from btw.
