hey guys can any one help me out,
i have a 87 cougar when i go to floor it some times the motor will almost bogg down and make a noise like bump bump bump. so if i let is coast and them put my foot back on the gas it does it agian. when i let it coast and then after a minute or so it will run fine. what could it be and could it hurt the car.

When was the last time it was tuned up? Fuel filter changed?
It sounds like not enough fuel to me. My H.O. will do that sometimes, because I only have the factory fuel pump. Need to upgrade.
