I have the Turbo Coupe with the twin scoops and my pad is falling apart, is this pad really needed or can I just remove it and be done?

Mine hasn't been on the car in over a year. It may be a little bit louder without it, but thats negligable.

It is intended for sound deadening, HOWEVER.  What it will also do is keep some of the engine heat from helping the clear-coat peel off.  Necessary, no.  Beneficial, yes.

PM mercury-man. He just had one made.

Personally I think they are over rated fire fuel.

This is the first car that had one for me. It would be gone if it didn't still look new.

It's a big dust collector if you ask me.
