Title: Any company makes door skins?
Post by: 86caprirs on September 21, 2009, 09:23:02 PM
My 87 - 88 doors are rusted on the bottom. I wanted to have a replacement skin to replace just at the belt line down to the bottom of the door. Is there any body manufactures that make these parts?

I don't know who makes them, but,i know they are available.Go to a body shop and check. When the driver side door of my other Bird washiznit, the body shop was going to re-skin it,and showed me the part in the book.I said no way and took the money and started building the Sport.Bottom line, they are made.

I bought some from Cross Canada for my old Sport. It was only the bottoms, though, not the whole skin. The part # was for 83-88 T-Bird and Cougar and 84-92 Mark Vii.

I just need the bottoms. I don't need the whole thing. Who is Cross Canada?

Cross Canada is an aftermarket body parts supplier. You should be able to get their parts from any auto parts store (UAP, etc)

I talked with showcars last year. their so called  "hard to find parts" are parts pulled from wrecked cars.

I bought universal door bottoms from Mill Supply in Ohio for any repairs I did to my car.

$18 door skins + endless free time = PROJECT!

Last time I looked I couldn't find them, now I'm unemployed and bored with 4 doors that need new bottoms and a fresh tank and spool in my welder!
