Kind of a nod to Letterman's Top 10 he had (has) on his show...
10. 13 seconds is too short to need AC ;)
9. With the windows up, I can't hear the car alarms my exhaust sets off from a block away.
8. I'm from Missouri, humidity+high temps doesn't bother me, lol.
7. Saved 14 pounds!
6. The shorter belt will allow my engine to rev faster lol
5. If it doesn't work, take it off. If it does work, take it off anyway, it's gonna break sooner or later. :rollin:
4. I also have another theory: if the gal in the passenger seat gets too warm, maybe she'll take her shirt off lol
3. Global warming is making the summers cooler and milder, and the winters warmer. On the other hand, I have to wear a hoodie after dark now, in the car.
2. Takes up too much room in the dash for more important things, such as boost gauges, N2O pressure gauges, exhaust gas temperature gauges etc
1. Don't need cold air, I have ice water runnin' in my veins! lol
Actually, in all seriousness, I like my AC, just have no need for it in the Bird. It didn't work, and was in the way. :D
LOL
I like #4
That's always a good reason...................
#4 is definitely the best.
Yeah but set the ECC to 70* and girls nipples get pointy:p
I bet compressor, lines, condenser and evaporator are more than 14lbs...
the heater box alone probably tops 14#'s
I don't have ac because my window is inside the door.
I have vent windows!!!! Just like the old days! No one needed AC then!
#1 reason I don't have AC: I have not fixed it yet.. Priorities ya know!
I am going to re-install mine.I can handle the heat, but, when I'm going to meet someone or take the sweetie out somewhere,I'd like to get there without being soaked in sweat, plus,I've tried driving 90 miles in a downpour of rain,no a/c......not a good thing at all.
Pop said that the AC was repaired and working in my Tbird before my parents parked it for such a long time. The compressor tries to cycle when I turn it on. I am going to try recharging the system first, but the system has not been converted to 134a yet.
#1 reason to keep A/C: It's a Thunderbird, not a Mustang. Thunderbirds deserve better :hick:
Speaking of which, I'm gonna need a compressor soon. It's been noisy for years, but it's getting REALLY noisy now.
I love my ac. I'll loose my pwersteering before I loose my ac!
Not a bad idea but Id like to loose both. If I make it hotter and harder to drive maybe my wife will stop driving it.
I had one on the '86 Grand Marquis that sounded almost like a turbo blow off... When I converted it to 134 in '98 or so, I swapped the compressor for a "quiet" one I had from a Mark VII(repl a leaking evap at the same time)... That one lasted all of two months, so I swapped back to the "whiner" and it was still on the car when the wife's aunt sold it earlier this year...
Anyway ain't no way in Hell I'm not going to have AC on my Bird, if it quits I'll fix it...
Bruce M: LOL that is funny right there!
