Title: Mixing different finish paints
Post by: DVP on August 14, 2009, 10:56:26 PM
Heres the deal

Rustoleum from Home Depot (you can spray it)

2 cans of flat black

1 can of gloss.

Want a satin/semi finish.

Would a 1/1 mix archive that or would there need to be more flat to offset the gloss?

It is going on a beater DD that just needs something to cover the worn stock paint.

Was thinking a 2/1 mix but Jerry thought it might be too much.

Any thoughts?

start with the gloss and add a bit gradually and see how it dries.
you'll be able to control the amount of gloss that way.
Are you using quarts or gallons?

There you go. If you got it at home depot, return it and get the semi
