Well i was trying to scan my new bird and i cant find the connector. On the autozone website it says that its under the hood on the passengers side behind the strut tower mounted on the lower fenderwell?? i Couldnt find it anywhere. It is '94 but im guessing it has the obd-II system and i always thought they were under the dash on the drivers side. Does anyone have a pic or know a link to a pic where i could find it?
Iirc '94 = Obd-i.....
On the fuse box in the engine bay it has a relay or a fuse that is labeled obd-2
I'd go by that then my half-exhausted brain right now, LOL!
Well i trust you guys more than myself... lol i thought only 96 and newer cars had the 0bd-II systems but i cant locate the connector - i even looked for the same connector thats in my '87 i cant find anything
I believe its on the passengers side under the dash. Use to own a 94 cougar and i believe thats where it is.
OBD II started in 96.
Early 90's Taurus had it mounted on the passenger side firewall with a cover over it.
Ok heres a pic....its on the fuse panel under the dash....my mistake. Its really hard to see the mark seperating the numerals
And ive also looked at obd - 1 code scanners for the bird and all of them say they work on all ford lincoln mercury 4.6 litre engines except the 1994-1995 cougar/t-bird. I am totally confused now lol
Well i guess i didnt see this post before, but thats where it was...And it is obd-II my code reader hooked right up and scanned it. Thanbks for all the help guys.
94 tbird and cougar with 4.6 have obd 2. 3.8 does not
exactly what I was going to say. My friends sister had a 94 4.6 with obd 2.
