I assume they are both mass-air, and the A9L is for 5 speeds?  A9P for automatics?

according tp the 5.0 hand book the the auto ecm is fine
for 5 speed applications. just not vice versa. i assume you
have converted to a 5 speed.

If you didn't drive the car with the 5speed and A9P yet I would wait and drive it with the A9P. I liked the A9P w/ the 5speed better than the A9L (I tried both) the rpms didn't drop off as much between shifts.

Makes no real difference... Well yes it does, the cruse mode is a bit leaner on the auto EECs

I run a A9L in my 5.0 AOD TC... Has better road manners than a A9P or a C3W1...

Well, after I install the 5 speed,I'll just see how it runs with the A9P,and if it's not "right",I may swap it out.
