What is the weight difference between the basic 5.0 and a 2.3 turbo?
Is this is a trick question ?
Maybe so but i think he wants a real answer.
Ford 289/302 V8 460lbs (non FI)
Ford 2.3 Lima/Pinto L4 450lbs (turbo)
wow, 450lbs? is that with or without the trans still on it :P
There's only a 10 lb difference between a V8 and a turbo 4?
I have to say, I find that hard to believe.
Then how much does a 3.8 weigh?
Yeah I'm doubting that as well...
The old iron headed, 289/302 with cast intake and exhaust manifolds does weigh around 475 lbs...
I honestly don't know about the 2.3T, but I seem to remember 380(maybe thats for a NA)...
Just remember, a 5.0 with Aluminum heads, intake and tube headers is going to weigh approx 80/85 lbs less than the old all iron versions... So even at 380, the weight difference is negligible...
This, I would agree with.
This, I would not; it's more like 400lbs.

And from that site...
Ford 2.3 L4 Turbo 380lb (162) Turbo T-Bird engine w/turbo, flywheel
yeah if you look one up it shows the one i quoted,I googled some more to verify the weights but that one seems closer the other was verified in 1982 wich was probly a carbed turbo model .
Yup saw that... Also has two 2.3s above it... 111lbs is quite a difference for a 2.3, no matter what year it is...
Ford 2.3 Lima/Pinto L4 418 (2) (also 2.0, 2.5)
Ford 2.3 Lima/Pinto L4 307 (18)
Ford 2.3 Lima/Pinto L4 450 (2) (turbo)
