Bah!
I have had the Bird parked due to the tire wear and not wanting to spend the time to fix it until after I get the house done. We made our first attempt at the final inspection this friday and have a few minor fixes
Insulate the water heater pipes
forgot to silicone one of the bathroom sinks
etc.
And I go out today to start the truck to get to work and the key goes to the RUN position then something inside breaks. Won't go to start, wont turn off, key just freely spins a full 360..
!!
I got a final inspection to be ready for this Friday, a new Washer and Dryer on order I need to pick up and Tbird part's to pick up this Saturday, and now I have no truck and a front tire with cord showing on my car!
/deep breath!!
So.. House is on hold, going to take the Bird back to the house and park it again, then the Wife and I will be sharing the Miata for a day or so while I fix the truck.
Consentrating all I have on this house has nearly ran both my car's into the ground, Well the bird getting hit by a semi dident help eather but thats beside the point.
I REALLY can't wait till this is over
It will all work out for you. Bad things always open a door for good things to happen. I'm sure you'll also pass the inspection the next time around.
Jerry
I'm here if you need any help Jim ;)
see, now you have a helper.
local dealership/parts store will have a lock cylinder and key. Then again, anything new with all their security may be an issue. Good luck.
Found the prob with the truck. it was the Upper Ignition Actuator, So I have Friday and Saturday off I was up till 11pm finishing off the last of getting the house ready for inspection. Just needed a 4" dryer vent elbo Sat. Morning so I got up at 6 and got that taken care of before the inspector showed up at 9:00
PASSED!!!
I now have a Certificate of Occupancy. What this means for those that don't know, is that after over a year of spending all my free time working my ass of, spending every extra cent on little and big that wasent included, spending $275,000 on a Construction loan.... I now have an approved offical HOME (not just a "structure") in the eyes of Cowlitz County.
It's not over yet... I still need to make it a COMPLETED home to satify the finance company, I need to lay about half the laminate flooring in the living room and one bedroom, carpet/laminate the stairway, and then trim... and it will FIbuttstuffY be over (or just starting, depending on how you look at it)
Well with that said.... Then saturday I got up early again and put the truck back together and only had one tiny spring left over.. I have no idea where it came from I I suspect something to do with the tilt at just after I pulled the tilt pins is when I found it, and now that it's all back together the wheel won't tilt. No biggy it's where I drive with it anyway.
On a worse note, the truck has always had a "sweet spot" I needed to find in the headlights. If I pulled the switch ALL the way out I would have Headlights and no Tail or Dash Lights... if I pushed it back in real carefully I could find a spot just before the headlights went off, where the tail lights would come ON and I would have both.
SO while I was in the dash I installed the new switch that I bought a while back... Now guess what.. no more "sweet spot"!! Now I simply have headlight OR tailights... never both
lol:punchballs:
That also means that they are assesing your new tax bill
RIGHT NOW.
Prepare for the raping... It's the downside to making your house a great place, unfortunately.
Thats why I bought a 1905 farm house. What the town doesn't know, won't hurt them.
Put a couple enclosed porch additions on.-- and yada yada yada.
my house is 3 rooms bigger inside.
no tax increase.
True,
Although from what I have seen and heard Cowlitz County is pretty easy on taxes, Compared to Clark County where I live now. Heard the same thing about Cowlitz PUD compared to Clark and that has held true. In Clark I spend 200+ a month in the winter to heat a 2 bedroom townhouse with a neighbor on both sides of me, In Cowlitz last month the PUD bill was $180 for a stand alone 3 bedroom house.
The Dump is also another indicator. In Clark a truckload would cost me $35. In Cowlitz it's $11 Flat rate.
Taxes on the bare 5 acres were $600 a year.
4 bed 2 bath 1 car garage full basp00get 110' X 60' lot....$7800 before all my discounts(military, STAR)....5200 after....
Haven't heard anything on mine yet, Apprasial (both tax and finacing) is the next step. I HOPE the finacing apprasal will come in arround $325,000. So I was searching arround for comp's and noticed on this site it gives the taxes for the homes
$359,775 home, 4 bed, 3 bath, 2car, half acre = $1800 taxes

I don't think it's a type as others in the 98625 area code on that site are comparable.
$359,000 = $1400 taxes

Like I said, Cowlitz County is very reasonable.
Few pieces of trim and 4 steps on the stairs and I'm done. (sorta) or I guess I should say Done "enough", Still got shelves and a bench to build in the garage, Closet rods and shelves to build, 5 acres to fence, walkways to put in, shed doors to build, etc, etc, etc..............
