hello all,
i am slowly getting my car back together. It started off as a tranny leak and has expanded into a pull everything apart project.  a friend is selling me everything i need to swap in a 5-speed so as soon as i pressure wash the underside and repaint it i will  put the drivetrain back in. i wish i could afford a griggs k-member but maybe later. Luckily this isnt a daily driver so i can take my time. i tried to fill in the engine bay holes but by body work skills aint the best. just in case anyone is interested i used a product from ducky. it's a 4" x 6" piece of fiberglass that you cut to fit and it cures by sunlight to a rock hard finish...here is the website.. .http://www.boatersoutlet.com/browseproducts/Ducky-Peel-N-Patch-Fiberglass-Kit.HTML

these are old pics so i'll update them later
my pics are too big and i dont know how to make them smaller.

In a pinch I email the pics to myself and adjust the size before i send them.

i used it to "fill" the holes in the engine bay. you basically cut it to shape, peel the backing off, stick it on let the sun shine on it and then sand it down. I was mixing my own fiberglass and it sucked but this stuff rocks for the body work impaired(me!)

i am filling all the small holes to make the engine bay cleaner. I am going to try and hide the wiring as well.  My goal is to have an ultra-clean car.  it's up on jacks now and i hav e removed all the lights, trim etc in prep for painting. i want it solid black(trim painted body color) with NASCAR style steel D hole rims and maybe ford titanium racing stripes.  Ultimate goal is a full griggs suspension and 300+ on the motor as when i retire i plan on moving back to Europe and i want to run down those pesky 5 series BMW's and such. I have loved these cars ever since i saw a new 87 at a car show in 86(i was 16). I happened across the one i have now for $500 so it's my retirement toy.

What the hell kind of job do you have to be lucky enough to plan your retirement at the age of 38? If it's anything besides the military, see if they are accepting applications!! I,m pretty sure most everyone here around our age is looking at another 25-30 yrs.

I'm in the Air force and I'm stationed in Florida. Ft Walton Beach to be exact. I SAY retirement but for me that just means leaving the military and finding another job. anyone know how to reduce the size of my pics? i'll try e-mailing them to myself but then what?  Not much of a computer guy...i work on airplanes.

I've got the option to reduce the size of pics in my email software before I send them. I assumed all of them did this now.
