Some of you might remember my dad's '69 428 SCJ Mach 1. Well he auctioned it off in August and ordered this beaut with the money. It arrived at the dealer on the 8th, he took it home on the 11th. Loaded except for Sirius. Can't really drive it since we live in Ohio and it's December, but it sure was fun on the ride home! Sorry about the pic quality, they were taken on my phone.
Wow, that's beautiful!
Nice! I was wondering why it was in your sig. :)
he will love it after 1,500 miles when the computer unlocks
How soon till it gets a pulley, intake, and tune?:burnout:
Instant 130+ hp.
I like it :D but if it were me I would have kept the 428 SCJ Mach 1;)
I just came from watching I am Legend and that car was in it!!
Thanks everyone!
Not sure how long 'til he gets the goodies, though he is definitely going to get CAI and a pulley, and probably the tune since they all come in a kit. He wants to lower it as well and is even considering some aftermarket wheels.
Man those pics look amazing but in person seeing that cant be beat. My buddys dad has a 1969 gt 500, so he bought a 07 gt500, god they are beautiful. Must be nice to have cash(you should see his cars)
A tune is a
MUST with almost any mod on the Spanish Oak processors. The exception being a ler swap or maybe an X-pipe. Even long tubes will need a tune.
The computer only needs 500 miles and 50 drive cycles.
Have tuned sevral, let me know when you get ready.
Check out the convt on the video section

I wasn't aware of the 500 mile computer deal. What happens then? I know after 20 miles it started letting him get into the boost.
And that video is crazy -- 95 hp with cold air and tune?
Saw it too, movie was alright, way too much computer generated stuff though, including that car.
I got to drive a 07 gt500 vert and it was pretty insane. I would have gotten a second mortgage and bought the 08 so he could have both. the 69 will be worth way more in the coming years.
Actually, the older market is starting to peak in my opinion. For example, 10 years ago, a '67 G.T. 500 was ~60k. Since then, the 'baby boomers' have started to retire and are buying the cars they wanted when they were kids in that era. I suspect the market will level off.
Yeah, I expected something better.
Sorry, but I will never own a newer Stang. I rode in one, and I hated it, and I didnt like the cars before that. I dont like the body styling. But to each his own. Have fun with it, they can make power, i'll give them that.
Out of morbid curiosity, what did you hate about the ride?
After 500 miles the computer will allow FULL BOOST. The computer
has alot of torque mangment on those cars. I will take the power away from you in a heartbeat.
Make sure you turn the traction control off if you plan on beating on it. The computer pulls FUEL to limit power (not good for a supercharged car).
Don't leave it outside i promise only to take the rims and tires very nice ride i think a new pulley would nto be a bad idea all i can say is STEEDA for a few GT500 Parts.
Wow, that is a beauty! I'd sell a 69 428CJ for one of those... Hell yeah!
I'd get rid of both of my Birds if I could get one of those...
Well after seeing the numbers in the video above and doing some research, he's most likely going to go with CAI and tune, no pulley. He would go for the pulley except it would void his warranty and it's not the easiest (but not the hardest) thing to change. Atleast with CAI he can switch it back to factory if he has to take it to the dealer. CAI and tune should bring the RWHP to over 500.
I remember that a car parked on E26 st and 5th ave in Manhattan while they were filming. There was 2 of them one in show room condition and the other was beat to sh#t
I actually sat in it and looked threw it and under the hood, the car bumpers had s fiberglass broke and I’m talking to the guy and I ask him what’s w all the hydraulics under the hood and he said later where going to jump it threw a plate glass window wonder how it came out in the movie looking forward to watching it since they filming it for a while.
That's an understatement :D
just fuel and no timing....cute
God I want one, black on black coupe. With the shifter they put in the Roush 427R's, I have never used a shifter that felt like that.
Cramped space, bumpy as hell, they arent that great on overall handling i noticed. Not to say a few models arent, but didnt impress me one bit. Plus Ive messed around racing a few on the highway, and power wise they are really disappointing.
If low 12's and high 11's with minimal add ons are disappointing WTH are YOU driving while messing with them?
I don't think he's referring to the GT500s specifically... just S197s as a whole. :D
Compared to what? ...a ZO6. C'mon, get real. A factory stock 3V GT will run 13.5 off the showroom floor. The GT500's are at least a full second faster and can be made to run 11's with minor bolt ons.
That's smokin!
Even so I don't get it I loved the ride and my 6'4 385 pound ass was
VERY comfortable behind the wheel.
One of the Ford mags got a GT500 to run 12.25 STOCK.
Not bad... lol. We had a couple guys come down from Detroit I believe yesterday to put on a "clear bra". It's just clear vinyl in all the spots vulnerable to stone chips and such. They were here from 8a to 9:30p. It does look pretty amazing though, fitting around every contour and you can't tell it's there unless you're looking for it.
Did you do the headlight overlays? I'm gonna be doing mine as that plastic is SOFT
Ya know, I didn't even look. I'll have to go check it out now lol.
Gott any pic of the bra installed??
Nice!
I'll take some the next time I get a chance.
Nice GT 500, on the bra eeeh i dont like them even if they are clear paint discoloration is not fun.
According to the appliers, there will be no such effect. We never would've had it done if that would happen.
Nice car yeah I saw I Am Legend awesome money, the mutants were umm.... surprising lol It must have been sponsered by Ford, because all of the main cars were Fords (the ones the actors drove)
:cougarsmily:
