Title: Opinions needed
Post by: daminc on November 30, 2007, 08:29:23 AM
I'm currently working on my car as everyone knows, and an wondering what to do about the motor situation?

My 3.8 right now is going to need a main bearing soon.
so would you rebuild a 3.8 so it will be drivable by summer and wait and put a 351 in it after collecting all the parts that were needed. then put it in

                      OR
s the 3.8 and start building a 351 while its not going anywhere and apart. and don't drive it for a while. possibly another year

I would like to hear your thoughts about that.
Keep in mind, I haven't had it on the road in 4  years.

I would start collecting the parts you need for the 351 swap now. Drive the 3.8 until it dies. Then buy the time that happens you might just have what you need to stuff the 351 in there. This way you can use the car while you are massing the parts. This will help cut the down time.

Don't waist your cash on the 3.8L,it's only good for a boat anchor and even then it's questionable!
