Well, after months of looking for a truck, I finally found one that I couldn't pass up.

'94 F250 XLT, 4x4, 5 speed, 7.3 IDI turbo diesel (not a powerstroke).
It needs a little work, but it has '94K on it and I got it for $5000 :D
I'm pitching the cap, running boards and lighted bumper things ASAP, and I've already got stuff on order for exhaust, intake and a couple gauges.
Oooohhhh nice...:D
At least it's got a turbo!
Jokin lol, but very nice indeed.
Nice dude. Engine looks a little dirty ;) I'd definitely say ditch those little bumper light stick things.
The turbo is the whole reason I bought it...
For those that don't know, the IDI was Ford's mechanical diesel before the powerstroke (it was still made by International). I.e. no goofy electronics to out (think 12V cummins). They made a turbo version for 2 years, I figured I'd never find one and then I stumbled across this one.
And yeah the engine bay is pretty grubby...I may have to get some Engine Brite and spray the whole thing down.
Right on! I love it.
nice score!
NOOOOOO! Leave the accessories! LOL thats the way that thing should look! Like half of those pickups I see have ALL that stuff on it. Makes it look like a real work truck. J/K do what ya like but I cant help it I gotta shove my 1 cent in there :hick:
Ha, I hate it, I think it looks like an old man's truck with all those doodads all over it...
Take the topper off the back other than that very nice find and its nice you had some money to get it.
good thing its not a powerstroke

And the point of that was to show me what?
Nothing bad you just said that yours was not a powerstroke like they were not as good as your motor.Sorry I'm just am jellous because I have always wanted a diesel.
Very nice. My grandpa has that exact same truck w/60k miles. But with the 5.8L 5 speed, and it's a total dog!
leave the visor. it looks cool!
My buddy has a '03 powerstroke. its nice.
NICE truck man. i was looking for any in that body style. found a diesle but couldnt get it bc i was tied up in a deal. but i got mine now from a guy down the street and im happy bc it's stick atleast and 4x4.
hows the turning on those i heard they started to get worse as they got to the newer trucks. like the 86's car steer like a motha. mine can cut some nice U-turns. it's a 90 though
Can you explain this?
My '92 has steering like any other '87-'96 F Series truck I've ever been in...and I've been in several.
Quite a few with higher miles...:hick:
IDI, turbo...LUCKY
Steering doesn't feel bad at all for a full size truck, hell it doesn't feel any worse than my Thunderbird, even (that thing has a pretty pathetic turning radius)
And that proves what? That the Dodge got the jump on the Ford? The driver made the difference in that one.....
i heard as the trucks got newer that they dont turn as well as the older ones. like the 86 bodystyle. not sure when it started. can out turn the 87-96 from what i have heard
Thats what i was thinking the ford guy just mashed the pedal the first time and the second time it was a lot closer, but he had some wheel hop or truck hop :D.
The turning radius is smaller on the older ones. My 86 4x4 can turn sharper than my moms 95 regal.
I havent driven an 87-96 but my neighbor said mine turned sharper than his 88.
Hello
Watch out for cylinder #8 dosent crack. Thats the reason they quit making them. Poor cooling and oil on that cylinder. Thats what happen to me. Make sure the injector pump is timed correctly. Nice truck I would have jumped on it also. In Canada some of the 93-95s had powerstroke signs on them.
