I thought some of you guys would appreciate this. This last summer I had a couple weeks of free time, so I finished stripping out my black 87 TC parts car, that I had originally purchased 5 long years ago. The pics were taken with my phone, so you'll have to forgive me for the small size and terrible overall quality.

Here it is, all dirty from sitting in a quonset for the last 5 years.

The hand of doom about to lay grip on the poor old TC carcass

A Thunderbird that finally gets to fly.
booo
FU i meant to say BOOOOOOOO
We mostly like nice running cars or project cars not parts cars.
Looks remarkably like my old TC parts car:
Wait for my pics to come,as i have parted one out also!!!So please dont hate me,or we will have to go to meetings to deal with these deaths.Of birds that is!!!!!!
To make me feel better anyone got pics of parted out Mustangs...........
I could get a few!! hahahahah lol
You guys woulda cried when we sped the old 83 TC...pretty much a zero option car.
We cant save them all from the big sper in the sky, some are to far gone. I cried when they shot old yeller!! lol
It's not alright to cry.
But I too have parted out a car recently. I miss her.
I ran that exact same crane last summer.
Reember, neither Ford nor the aftermarket makes parts for these cars anymore. If it wasn't for parts cars most of our "main" cars wouldn't even be roadworthy. Every T-Bird that dies probably extends the lives of 10 others.
amen to that...
I've got enough parts squirreled away to almost build another Tbird. As of right now, I have a complete 2.3T engine, 2 TC rear ends, one 3.73 and one 3.55, one mustang 8.8 with richmond 3.73s, 3 sets of 11" front rotor/spindle upgrades, a spare TC nose, 3 front TC sway bars, 2 sets of TC wheels, 2 sets of TC parking brake brackets, a spare set of tail lights, 3 spare gauge clusters, and the list keeps going.
In total, I've parted out 5 Tbirds. 1 85 TC, 2 87-88 V8s, and 2 87-88 TCs. I also parted out an 88 Mustang GT. The parts were invaluable when it came time to build my Tbird. As soon as I finish the mechanical aspect of the car, I will have a huge parts sale on all this stockpiled stuff.
I still feel bad for every one of the Birds I parted out, especially the TCs, but all of them were far beyond reasonable repair when I purchased them, having serious, terminal body rot.
I parted one out a few weeks ago. Its like these TC's are dropping by the hour. Does any one have a gues at how manny 87's and 88's are still on the road?
Ever wonder about the poor guy running the crane? I wonder how many times he has had to hook onto something thinking "omg Noooo!"
I would have my 5 acres crammed full of wrecks and be working for nothing if I had that job.
SAVE THEM ALL!
Another case in point:
The '88 TC I stripped a year ago...beat up front, missing bumper, leaves down inside the water pump, (block DID turn over)
no fuel tank, no title....I had no choice...at least ALL of the parts went on to help other cars run, etc etc.
It's like this: if you see one, don't put a bad, rusted, wrecked whatever car BACK on the road, get what parts you can from it to keep, or sell to help another Bird/Coug stay alive...
The crusher doesn't give a shiznit about those dent-free Snowflakes or that perfect TC hood or header.
SAVE WHAT YOU CAN :D
